After staying unnoticed for quite a while in his early career, currently Nawazuddin Siddiqui is storming in Bollywood movies. Nawaz was first recognized by film critic Robert Ebert for his lead role in a feature film named Patang. Patang was directed by Prashant Bhargava and it was premiered in the Berlin Film Festival. Peoples who have been with Nawaz for a long time also claim that the role in Patang transformed his acting style. As a promising artist Nawaz appeared in major films like Kahaani and Gangs of Wasseypur followed by Gangs of Wasseypur part 2 and Talaash, all in the year of 2012. Today Nawaz has Stardust award for best supporting actor, Zee Cine award for best actor in a supporting role, Screen Awards for best supporting actor and the Special jury award under his name.
He also earned lots of praise for his roles in Kick, Badalpur, Bajrangi Bhaijaan and recently released Majhi: The Mountain Man. Recently it is reported by bollywood reporters that none other than our senior Bachchan has requested film maker Sujoy Ghosh to cast him with Nawazuddin in a film! When the reporters reached Nawaz for his response to this event, Nawaz considered himself very blessed and fortunate that someone as highly popular as Amitabh Bhachchan is wishing to work with him. He told that it is going to be a dream coming true if this really happens because like every other less known actors he also once dreamt of sharing a screen with Mr. Bachchan. It is now viral that Sujoy Ghosh has already written a film script where he will cast them in interesting roles. Rumors are spread that the film name is going to be “Kerala” and the plot will be of a thriller.
Currently Nawaz is busy filming Raees as a policeman which also stars Shah Rukh Khan and which is set to be released on 8th July 2016. In a recent interview when asked why he is always doing some supporting roles other than playing the lead role, Nawaz replied that he does not believe in prominence of the big stars while performing and from A listers to one minute role actors, he considers everyone as colleagues. He also told that if he would think that he is working with someone great irrespective of the fact he is or he is not, it will hamper and corrupt his performance.
