Deepika Padukone has become a lucky mascot for whom so ever she works with. Since the super success of her 2012 hit film Cocktail, which she herself describes as a film which brought about a turning point in her life, this leggy lass, has only given hit films. Her recent success was the ShoojitSarkar directed film Piku, in which she played a de-glam role of a Bengali girl who looks after her father who is obsessed about his bowel movements. The father's role was played by ShoojitSarkar. The film which was released on 8th May earned Rs1.05 billion in just 13 days of its release. The film and Deepika's performance have been loved by the audiences and even the critics. She has yet again proved that she can not only look beautiful and dance well, but can also give stellar performances which make people fall in love with her.

Deepika had created a sort of record when in 2013 her four films Race2, YehJawaani Hai Deewani, Chennai Express, and Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ramleela, totally earned more than Rs.600 crores worldwide. Such a huge sum had never been earned by any actor's films before, and certainly no other actress could reach that figure if the actors also could not reach that massive figure. She even received the Filmfare Award for Best Actress that year, for her performance in the film Goliyon Ki RasleelaRamlila. She considers 2013 as her best year professionally. Whereas, on the personal front she is rumoured to be dating actor Ranveer Singh, with whom she is currently doing a film named Bajirao Mastani being directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Her other film on which work is going on, is Imtiaz Ali directed film Tamasha in which she has been paired with her ex-boyfriend RanbirKapoor. Her dedication towards her work can be seen from this fact that she does not let her personal life affect her professional life; otherwise she could not have worked with an ex-flame.
